Floors and more floors

We've been at this floor for weeks now. You'd think we'd be done already....but nope. There is beautiful hard wood that was buried under three nasty layers of carpet, tile and plywood. They all were glued to one another. Yuck!! Talk about a lot of work!

On a positive side (although I think everything about this business is positive) we have framed in our fireplace. I'm sooo excited about this detail. It will add the perfect touch to the shopping experience. I hope all our friends will love it just as much as we do.

Picking out colors today and I ordered some fabric last week!! EEKKK!! I would love some suggestions of what you would like to see in the shop. I know what I like but I want to know what you like too. Feel free to leave a comment. Think of it as a suggestion box.

Thats all for now. Ta-ta!

  1. I'm SO excited for a modern fabric shop to be coming to St. Louis! I'd love to be able to purchase prints from Anna Maria Horner, Lizzy House, and Joel Dewberry in person (and all in one place!).

  7. Thanks for opening your suggestion box! My favs are Joel Dewberry, Sandi Henderson, Anna Maria Horner and Heather Bailey. None of these are carried by any of the shops in St. Louis. Can't wait until you open!

  8. Look forward to your opening. I would like to know more about the organic fabrics and some of the designers from Japan. Hope that is a good suggestion.

Have a super great day and the shop is going to be wonderful.

  9. Any chance you might carry metal purse frames? This is one project I would love to take a class on.

  11. Hi! I'm hoping you'll carry voile. Amy Butler just came out with a new line of Soul Blossom voile that look so yummy I can hardly stand it! Keep us posted on your progress....we can't wait to celebrate your Grand Opening!

  12. It's not a fabric suggestions, most of the ones I would love to see have already been suggested... but I was wondering if you could have a small kid's play area? I have 2 yo twins and one more on the way, and I know my boys HATE going to the fabric store... it doesn't help that fabric/craft places like Jackman's are not double stroller friendly. It's a lot to ask, I know... I am just hoping. ;)

  13. Actually, I am not sure if Valori Wells is considered "modern" but I love her fabric. Hope your little guy is doing ok with his poor finger. Ouch! Thanks for the email about the play area!
